About the role

  • Leading and mentoring the People Team (6 Direct Reports), guiding them toward success and growth.
  • Reporting to and partnering closely with the CFO to ensure strong alignment between people and business goals.
  • Overseeing Dutch payroll and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Managing absence and sickness cases (both short- and long-term) in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Driving and optimizing HR operations, from onboarding and employee lifecycle management to compensation and benefits.
  • Handling HR Business Partner responsibilities, advising managers on performance, engagement, and development and supporting in handling workplace challenges.
  • Fostering a culture of openness, feedback, and recognition. Celebrating good work and addressing challenges head-on.
  • Supporting organizational growth through workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Championing values and advocating for the People Team’s mission within the business.

Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of HR experience, including hands-on HR operational work and team leadership.
  • Proven experience in Dutch payroll and absence/sickness management (short and long term).
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and HR compliance.
  • Experience as an HRBP supporting leaders with advice and people insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, you’re clear, approachable, and not afraid to give or receive feedback.
  • You’re a logical thinker who brings clarity and structure to fast-moving situations.
  • A positive, values-driven personality. You care deeply about people and culture.
  • A proactive and independent mindset. Able to recognize and celebrate great work within your team.
  • Based in the Netherlands and fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken).
