About the role

  • Manager of Talent Management collaborating with HR to enhance talent development strategies at Sun Life. Lead global initiatives and coach teams to align with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve global, technology-enabled talent development programs across a span of different practice areas aligned with business goals and talent needs (i.e., Career Development, Leader Effectiveness), overseeing project management, stakeholders, resourcing, communications, and measurement
  • Lead and coach team members to support and enhance development solutions, driving collaboration, and assessing performance and resource allocation to deliver priorities and key objectives
  • Bring cross-functional teams together to identify employee needs and develop solutions that can scale across the organization
  • Recommend and implement digital and innovative approaches to improve processes, programs, and employee experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders globally (Enterprise Talent functions, Business Group Talent Partners, HR Business Partners, HR Digital Solutions and People Analytics, and other key stakeholders) to align and foster feedback and support for talent development initiatives
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Facilitate webinars and learning sessions as needed
  • Use sound judgment to solve problems and address challenges with innovation and agility, considering stakeholder impact

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in a related field (such as Leadership Development, Talent Management, Training & Development, or Human Resources)
  • Knowledge of best practices for employee development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale global programs across multiple stakeholder groups, preferably in talent, leadership development, learning and development
  • Able to move easily between individual, collaborator, consultant, and leadership roles, demonstrating both direct and indirect leadership skills as needed
  • Flexible and adaptable - handles change well and brings clarity to complex situations by researching, applying design thinking, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging data & insights
  • Strong communicator who builds positive relationships at all levels
  • Skilled at aligning solutions with strategic priorities and business goals
  • Proactive and self-driven—quick to spot and solve problems, and always ready with new ideas
  • Experience with Workday and advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel analysis and PowerPoint presentations, are an asset.
