About the role

  • Exert strong leadership and influence at various levels of the organization.
  • Make decisions related to hiring, performance management, career development and promotion, departure management, and support for organizational development.
  • Apply your knowledge of HR best practices to guide decision-making.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop a team of human resources professionals and contribute to maintaining and improving employee engagement, both in human resources and for the organization.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure the follow-up of objectives and monitor trends to develop human resources strategies that will promote the achievement of business results.
  • Monitor HR indicators within their area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with other managers and HR employees to design, implement, and improve core HR functions and programs.
  • Stay current on industry and HR trends and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Provide advice on performance management of business units under their responsibility to identify and manage employees whose performance is outstanding or insufficient, in partnership with internal and external experts.
  • Develop a problem resolution strategy for employee complaints and serious employee relations issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Recommend changes based on identified internal trends and competitive benchmarking analysis.
  • Act as the company expert in employee relations and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team on recruitment strategies for business units under their responsibility.
  • Actively contribute to all special projects as needed. The position may require occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with a Human Resources specialization or a combination of education and work experience
  • CHRP and/or CHRL designation completed or in progress
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR roles with increasing responsibilities, including at least 7 years of experience as an HR generalist.
  • Management experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Results- and solutions-oriented.
  • Ability to influence others with convincing discourse and concise, precise, and clear writing; essential for success.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and high accuracy.
  • Interest in labor relations.
  • Bilingualism is required (French - English).
  • Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
