About the role
- Senior PR and Media Relations Manager leading media relations and external communications for BAM UK and Ireland. Driving advocacy and telling inspiring stories to enhance brand reputation.
Responsibilities
- Support and drive forward the organisations external communications strategy.
- Act as the lead media relations liaison for the organisation and help to define our news pipeline.
- Build relationships with key media and external stakeholders.
- Work with the Head of PR and Strategic Communications to create and execute external communications strategies and plans.
- Deputise for the Head of PR and Strategic Communications when required.
- Lead a team of two PR and Media Managers.
- Manage the day to day relationship with our PR agency.
- Develop and maintain effective measurement and KPIs for external communication channels.
- Work closely with the Senior Internal Communications Manager to identify shared story and content opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technology such as AI and understand its role in communications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior PR/Media Relations Manager or a similar role in a complex organisation.
- Track record of leading PR and media relations in another large business.
- Strong understanding of the media landscape and significant corporate communications experience.
- Ability to speak to senior leaders, understand a brief and turn it into a deliverable communications plan or campaign.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
- Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Degree or professional qualification in journalism or communications or similar levels of equivalent experience.
