About the role
- Human Resources Manager developing HR solutions and mentoring HR Generalists at Feyen Zylstra in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and improve the employee experience.
Responsibilities
- develop and provide best in class HR solutions, tools and consultation to help our teams achieve business goals and positively impact the employee experience
- coach, mentor and manage regional HR Generalists as it relates to HR matters as needed
- serve as a point of contact for employees and leaders in the organization
- lead efforts to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- collaborate with Talent Acquisition and regional leaders to deliver effective recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
- proactively design and implement systems and programs that improve processes
- oversee investigations of employee concerns
- consult on budget and strategy with the Director of People Services
- contribute to special projects that advance departmental goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field preferred
- 8+ years of HR experience, including 2+ years in HR leadership
- Strong knowledge of HRIS (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Expertise in federal and state labor laws and employee relations
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
- Collaborative team player with a positive, field-first attitude
- Safety awareness and willingness to wear PPE when visiting field locations
