About the role

  • Employee Relations Advisor providing HR advisory services in a hybrid role. Handling ER cases and supporting operational management teams throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of ER cases such as disciplinary grievances, absence management, probation, AWOL, flexible working, and TUPE.
  • Lead on weekly operational case management meetings.
  • Advise line managers on informal and formal ER issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies.
  • Leading on case work where managers need more development.
  • Ensure all advice aligns with current legislation and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of ER cases and resolutions using internal systems.
  • Upskill managers on handling ER matters effectively and legally.
  • Liaise with trade unions or employee representatives when necessary.
  • Track ER KPIs and contribute to service improvement strategies.

Requirements

  • Able to provide remote ER and face to face support for a multi-site operation.
  • Experience of providing HR advice in line with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Well organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage high volume of case work and queries to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to write clear, understandable and concise correspondence with excellent attention to detail and telephone manner.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to confidently recommend solutions to problems/issues with a commercial approach where required.
  • Pro-active and practical approach to problem solving.
  • Good working knowledge of current employment legislation and its application in the workplace.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Experience of working within a Shared Service environment or busy HR Department (Desirable).
  • Understanding of HR systems/technology / HR software / CRM (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of working within Health Care or similar (Desirable).
  • Currently studying or have completed CIPD level 3 as a minimum and keen to progress (Desirable).
  • A minimum of 3 years HR experience with a good understanding and confidence when providing practical and commercial HR advice (Desirable).
