About the role

  • Sales & Account Manager at CHEP managing customer relationships and driving business development. Focus on account management, customer acquisition, and market analysis in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and advise existing customers, and coordinate proper order processing with the inside sales team and other departments on all customer matters
  • Identify and analyze potential opportunities for business expansion (managed via Bluesheet) with existing customers in your portfolio
  • Independently pursue and implement business expansion opportunities with existing customers in your portfolio
  • Contact qualified leads for new customer acquisition, and independently acquire new customers at trade shows, through networks, etc.
  • Conduct revenue and volume planning for the existing business of assigned customers as well as for anticipated new business in cooperation with the customer
  • Continuously track planned sales and volume figures for assigned customers and actively manage this information (immediate information sharing, development of countermeasures if necessary, etc.)
  • Continuously review existing customer relationships (processes, inventory levels, dwell times, pricing) as part of profitability and contract control, and identify and implement optimization opportunities
  • Plan and conduct regular inventories at existing customer sites
  • Responsible for maintaining all customer-specific data in existing systems and collecting customer- and division-relevant information for market analyses
  • Monitor the market, including competitor activity
  • Develop customer retention strategies in the interest of CHEP
  • Participate in projects (occasionally, nationally and internationally)

Requirements

  • Successfully completed commercial/business vocational training (or equivalent)
  • At least two years of field sales experience, preferably in sales/customer service for logistics services
  • Good PC skills (MS Office; preferably also SAP; internet research)
  • Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality
  • Analytical thinking and quick comprehension
  • High resilience and flexibility in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Confident and professional demeanor when dealing with business partners
  • Strong self-management and the ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Basic understanding of business and financial principles
  • Negotiation skills
  • German and English, both written and spoken
