About the role

  • Serve as a strategic partner and coach to senior leadership, including the VP of Product Engineering
  • Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives
  • Identify issues, challenge assumptions, and proactively run problems to ground
  • Lead and drive key organizational transformations, including integrating new teams and optimizing reporting structures
  • Drive talent strategies and programs such as performance management, career pathing, and succession planning
  • Function as a visible and trusted site HR leader for the California workforce and drive site culture
  • Provide expert guidance and support on complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations
  • Use People data and analytics to inform strategic decisions and identify trends
  • Partner closely with People Team Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Benefits & Support)
  • Report to the Manager of People Partnership and act as a player-coach with hands-on problem solving

Requirements

  • 9+ years of progressive HR / People Partner experience
  • 3-5 years supporting a product or engineering organization in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of leading organizational transformations and managing large-scale change initiatives
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect People strategy to business outcomes
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills
  • Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Deep knowledge of California and federal labor laws
  • Ability to create new programs and processes from scratch (builder's mindset)
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States (work authorization questions present)
  • Must be able to work onsite from the listed work location (Berkeley, CA) at least 4 days per week
  • Experience supporting hardware engineering teams (application question)
