About the role

  • Drug and Alcohol Project Worker assisting young people in Torbay to reduce harm and provide treatment plans. Collaborating with families and professionals to deliver effective interventions and support.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in reducing harm to young people across Torbay.
  • Work alongside young people, their families, and other professionals in the community to provide advice, make assessments to plan and deliver effective and person-centred treatment.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and structured psychosocial interventions as part of an experienced team and multi-agency response.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a successful track record of intervention work with children, young people and their families.
  • Committed to, and able to demonstrate, relational, restorative and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) and awareness of national and local initiatives.
  • Knowledge of psychological and physical dependence of substances and the risks substance misuse may post in the short and long-term.
  • This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
