Responsibilities
Provides leadership in establishing goals and priorities
overall management of the clinical applications team
ensures continuity and alignment of the clinical application services direction and plans
leads the team in the deployment, implementation, and ongoing support of the EHR and supporting applications
manages a team of EHR Application Analysts
assists in resolving highly complex issues regarding clinical applications
coordinates application testing and implementation of software releases
develops strategies for training and tools for all clinical applications
leads the team to create documentation of business requirements and workflows
coordinates all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgrades
develops strong relationships with department leaders and end user communities
serves as a key onsite EHR IT resource for facility implementation and support
leads team that provides second level support as a broad EHR subject matter expert
provides input to policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field
at least 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in project and/or team management
Nursing license preferred
EHR certification in related modules preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
strong people management skills
strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
ability to manage multiple teams in a highly complex health care system
excellent analytical, organization, and verbal communication skills
ability to solve complex problems and understand customer needs
strong understanding of healthcare business process and technology
basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology
working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing a plus
must be able to travel both in state and out of state on occasion.
