Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
Plans and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new employee onboarding, and retirement education
Administers employee recognition programs and leads the Employee Engagement Committee in planning activities and events for the company including charitable contribution programs
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development needs
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information
Completes semi-monthly payroll processing ensuring proper handling of new hires, salary changes, bonus/commission payments, deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate party
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
2-4 years of human resource management experience preferred with at least 1 year of payroll processing experience
