About the role

  • People & Culture Generalist responsible for HR functions and employee engagement at Engage Fi. Collaborating with departments for recruitment, compliance, and organizational development.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Plans and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new employee onboarding, and retirement education
  • Administers employee recognition programs and leads the Employee Engagement Committee in planning activities and events for the company including charitable contribution programs
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development needs
  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information
  • Completes semi-monthly payroll processing ensuring proper handling of new hires, salary changes, bonus/commission payments, deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate party
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 2-4 years of human resource management experience preferred with at least 1 year of payroll processing experience
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus
