Responsibilities
Reviewing, deciding appropriate action and responding to appeals and complaints on declined/terminated claims
Consulting on complex escalated disability claim situations and providing guidance and feedback to claims personnel
Reviewing and providing recommendations to Medical & Dental Services on Overage Dependent applications
Reviewing lump sum settlement requests initiated by internal and external parties
Work closely with various teams including Benefit Policy, Best Practice and Training, Medical and Dental Services, and CMOS
Requirements
Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) required
4+ years of experience managing Group Disability claims
Post-secondary education in an appropriate discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
Solid understanding of Canada Life’s case management policies and practices
Ability to work independently and collaboratively at all levels
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to facilitate and negotiate effective claim management solutions
Industry related courses (LOMA, HIAA, ICA) would be an asset
Experience using Group Disability programs such as ODIS, DCT and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook and Excel is an asset
