About the role

  • Work as part of a team to ensure all summer centre locations are fully staffed, meeting operational requirements and adhering to the British Council accreditation scheme.
  • Recruit staff in line with British Council accreditation guidelines, promoting safer recruitment practices to safeguard the wellbeing of young learners.
  • Assess applications against role criteria to create a shortlist of qualified candidates.
  • Conduct structured interviews to evaluate suitability, ensuring all recruitment decisions align with safeguarding policies and best practices.
  • Follow robust recruitment and selection procedures, focusing on safer recruiting to protect the welfare of students while hiring the best candidates for temporary summer roles.
  • Coordinate onboarding and maintain administrative processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment and company policies.
  • Use recruitment software and tools to streamline shortlisting, interview scheduling, and tracking candidate progress.
  • Assist with staff enquiries and deliver ongoing HR support during the summer operational period, ensuring employees feel valued and informed.
  • Position Embassy Summer as the preferred employer for temporary summer school staff, ensuring all interactions reflect our brand values and commitment to safeguarding.

Requirements

  • Educated to A Level / High School level or above.
  • Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to manage own workload and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate with practical knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience of working in summer schools or an EFL environment.
  • Experience of working in HR / Recruitment & Selection (educational industry preferred).
  • An understanding of welfare and safeguarding good practice guidelines.
  • An understanding of safer recruitment good practice guideline.
  • Database management experience.
