About the role

  • Operate as both a strategic and operational business partner performing full life cycle human resources support within the business, through the planning and execution of HR practices and programs.
  • Partner with all management levels to drive business results that optimize talent, structure, process and culture.
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve every day issues and develop short and long term HR strategies and solutions designed to achieve optimal departmental performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner and coach managers on effectively engaging employees and addressing employee relations issues.
  • Act as a change agent for key business changes and as an advocate in the communication of HR changes.
  • Act as primary POC for employees and managers on assigned contracts and provide excellent customer service with a focus on responsiveness.
  • Use data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to management.
  • Support and execute the strategic direction of HR, including implementation of high-value added HR processes that support business goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify performance improvements and initiate positive changes in HR practices; creatively address problem solving to provide solutions that support superior customer service
  • Ability to handle HR situations and information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field or equivalent experience plus 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding and wide application of technical HR principles, theories and concepts, as well as HR best practices.
  • Comprehension of US employment law, federal and state laws, with special emphasis on California law and government contracting compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative with minimal supervision and exercise strong prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • ADP experience a plus.
  • Experience within the government contracting industry highly preferred.
  • PHR certification highly preferred.
