About the role

  • Act as the primary link between the Business Development team and the Vice President Business Development, ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives by providing daily operational oversight, training, removing roadblocks, and performance feedback
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the teams portfolio of existing key customer accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts by cross-selling and up-selling multimodal freight solution
  • Promote strong cross-functional communication across internal teams to ensure seamless execution of customer solutions and resolve escalated issues promptly
  • Stay current on industry trends and customer activity to inform strategy and drive improvements
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, revenue, customer retention, and pipeline health

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, mentor, and empower a sales team
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales or account management experience within the freight brokerage or 3PL industry
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry and adapt quickly to changing business needs and market conditions
  • Comfortable with data, reporting, and metrics to drive performance and accountability
  • Ability to travel on occasion (less than 10%)
