About the role

  • Recruitment of first-year and transfer students for the University of Maine. Engaging with families, counselors, and diverse backgrounds to meet admission goals.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment of first-year and transfer students
  • Working closely with students, families, guidance counselors and transfer counselors
  • Enabling the University to meet its undergraduate admission goals
  • Communicating with prospective students and families about the academic programs at the University of Maine
  • Following up through written, phone and electronic contact
  • Promoting UMaine and executing targeted recruitment and yield programs

Requirements

  • Typically has the education associated with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be self-motivated and committed to the goals and values of the University of Maine
  • Candidates must possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Must work simultaneously with multiple projects, deadlines, and departments
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and recruit students of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to travel, normally requiring a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 35 pounds
  • Ideal candidates have work or educational experience where creativity and generating new ideas was expected
  • Preferred: Education associated with a master's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of admission or admission related experience
  • Basic computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft
