About the role

  • Support the full employee life cycle ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Provide day-to-day HR operational support including maintaining employee data in HRIS
  • Coordinate onboarding process for new hires through sending out paperwork, setting up employee profiles in BambooHR
  • Assign compliance training to new hires and ensure completion
  • Maintain confidential employee files, process changes, and ensure HRIS is accurate and up to date
  • Support recruitment activities through posting roles, screening applicants and scheduling interviews
  • As a culture ambassador support and engage with internal culture/social events

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Passionate advocate and visible champion of UJA’s mission, values, and goals
  • CHRP in progress is an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act and other relevant legislation
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Experience with BambooHR and/or other HRIS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense for accuracy
  • Able to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality of all HR information
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, prioritizing and time-management skills
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, innovation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
