About the role

  • Associate Director for Learning and Development guiding strategic direction for organizational capabilities at Lilly. Driving performance solutions and collaboration with key partners in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the LRL business functions that drives and enhances organizational capabilities
  • Collaborate with key business partners, suppliers, and L&D partners to align learning strategy, curriculum architecture, and implementation
  • Support large, cross-functional learning and performance solutions
  • Anticipate and resolve complex problems related to learning and performance
  • Develop and execute comprehensive performance strategies that support business objectives
  • Conduct needs and target audience analysis to identify learning and performance gaps
  • Apply effective project management to ensure timely delivery of performance solutions
  • Partner with Lilly personnel for understanding and communication of overall L&D strategy with business partners
  • Establish a network of internal and external learning and business professionals and benchmark as appropriate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, instructional design, performance technology, or related programs
  • 5 years of experience in proactive strategic learning, capability development consultation, performance consulting, instructional design, and program/portfolio management
  • M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Adult Learning or related experience/education (preferred)
  • Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Certification (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of and/or experience in a regulated environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of LRL business and structure (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, using good judgment, and managing complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and build trust with internal and external business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to scope and lead learning projects
  • Demonstrated success in influencing without authority
  • Effective problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve business and organizational problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital learning technologies and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 applications, with growing literacy in AI‑enabled tools to enhance learning design, delivery, and efficiency
