About the role

  • HR Business Partner responsible for labor relations compliance and supporting organizational HR strategies. Collaborating with leaders to achieve business objectives and maintain organizational culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to department leadership by providing expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with business leaders to proactively identify people-related risks and opportunities, translating business needs into HR strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations through oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR compliance processes.
  • Lead the effective implementation of group and organizational HR policies, ensuring alignment with local labor legislation while balancing business needs and risk management.
  • Assess workforce trends, employee relations data, and compliance findings to inform leadership decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and oversee labor and employment-related matters, including preparation and review of legal and disciplinary documentation and coordination with external legal counsel or labor advisors.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate employee relations and compliance risk areas; present risk assessments, recommendations, and action plans to leadership.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, and disciplinary processes, including performance improvement plans (PIPs) and terminations.
  • Lead or oversee complex workplace investigations, ensuring consistency, fairness, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws, regulations, and labor trends; interpret and communicate implications to leadership and recommend policy or practice updates as needed.
  • Act as a change agent by supporting organizational initiatives, leadership development, and culture alignment in support of business objectives.

Requirements

  • Previous HR experience of at least 4 years, 1+ years of which as a Human Resources Business Partner or Employee Relations Specialist.
  • Experience in the health care sector – preferred
  • Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, applicable Federal and State employment laws.
  • Understanding of labor & employment laws, compensation & benefits, policies & procedures.
  • Experience in performance management, employee relations and talent development.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel - required
