About the role

  • EPC Business Development Specialist responsible for leading construction contract negotiations for renewable projects in France. Focusing on business development and team management within the EPC framework.

Responsibilities

  • **Your responsibilities:**
  • Translate the overall EPC strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders, Executive Management, the shareholder and its subsidiaries where applicable
  • Organize the EPC Business Development function according to the tasks and skills required to meet Client (internal or external) needs in the most efficient and satisfactory way
  • **Lead and manage the EPC Business Development team:**
  • Manage the activity: methodology, procedures, continuous improvement and standardization of working methods in line with the Company’s strategy and procedures (update and/or implement effective procedures adapted to EPC Business Development activities; raise team awareness and ensure knowledge and proper use of procedures)
  • Coordinate planning, team workload and priorities for the EPC Business Development team in accordance with priorities established with the EPC Director
  • Cascade the overall strategy defined by the EPC Director to the teams
  • Drive personnel management processes and encourage individual professional development
  • Promote communication and interfaces with all internal stakeholders (Development, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Legal, Finance, Executive Management, Group) and external stakeholders (clients, banks, advisors), disseminating EPC Business Development priorities
  • Co-responsible, together with peers from Engineering, Procurement and Construction, for communicating the shared vision for Engineering, Construction and Procurement and ensuring the proper functioning of this tripartite relationship
  • Draft, standardize and update EPC/EPC BOP contracts based on lessons learned (standard contract templates, clause libraries, etc.)
  • Prepare EPC/EPC BOP proposals: scope, price, margin, contingency, risk allocation, liability cap, penalties, etc., in back-to-back alignment with supply contracts for OEM components (wind turbines, PV modules, batteries, inverters) and/or within the framework defined with the EPC Director
  • Negotiate EPC/EPC BOP contracts back-to-back with supply contracts for OEM components (wind turbines, PV modules, batteries, inverters) and/or under the framework developed with the EPC Director
  • Ensure contractual follow-up of EPC/EPC BOP contracts from signature through to the end of contractual commitments (which occurs at the expiry of warranty periods)
  • Compile and maintain EPC/EPC BOP project contracts
  • Simplify and make accessible all binding contractual elements by implementing appropriate interfaces
  • Manage the contracting of commitments related to the main EPC/EPC BOP contract (ancillary agreements such as direct agreements, assignment agreements, etc.), amendments, archiving and contract lifecycle tracking
  • Manage and monitor contract administration in support of the project (milestones, deliverables, handovers, etc.) and address contractual deviations (notifications, correspondence, analyses, variations)
  • Alert on risks of non-compliance with contractual requirements and on non-contracted cost overruns related to various events: client change requests, subcontractor risks, schedule risks, external impacts, etc.
  • Track claims and prepare documentary evidence to support a claim, pre-litigation or litigation
  • Participate in preparing contractually required documents for project acceptance
  • Ensure archiving of project contractual documents
  • Contribute to lessons-learned activities
  • **QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment)**
  • Comply with and implement Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures within the company
  • Report any event or situation that could present a danger to people, including colleagues and contractors, and/or to the environment
  • Ensure that HSQE aspects are integrated into the team’s tools and documents
  • Participate in training and awareness events on these topics

Requirements

  • **Your profile:**
  • Master's degree (Bac+5) or equivalent, with at least 10 years’ experience in negotiating and managing construction contracts
  • Fluent in English and strong IT skills, particularly advanced Excel and Word
  • Proven expertise in negotiation and excellent knowledge of FIDIC contracts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable in client-facing relationships
  • Cross-functional knowledge covering contract law, project management, risk management and finance
  • Recognized for communication skills, team spirit and versatility, with strong synthesis, rigor, analytical and reporting abilities and a genuine pedagogical approach
  • Able to adapt quickly to demanding environments and demonstrate strong resistance to stress
