Supplier Business Development Manager responsible for onboarding and supporting suppliers in a B2B diamond marketplace. Focused on supplier growth and optimizing performance through strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
Identify and onboard high-quality suppliers that align with category standards
Conduct in-person and virtual meetings to communicate marketplace value propositions clearly and drive strong engagement with our platform
Build deep, consultative relationships with suppliers and serve as their day-to-day point of contact for growth, performance, and issue resolution
Proactively support supplier needs, escalating and coordinating internally with tech, operations, and customer support teams to ensure a seamless experience
Use data to assess supplier performance, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable feedback on selection, pricing, availability, and quality metrics
Drive suppliers to meet revenue targets by optimizing product assortment, pricing strategies, and inventory levels
Work closely with suppliers to maintain high-quality standards, proactively reducing return rates and customer complaints through ongoing quality monitoring and guidance
Partner closely with category management, product, operations, and product marketing teams to align on category objectives, supplier priorities, and buyer engagement initiatives
Support the development and delivery of training resources to help suppliers adopt best practices for product listing optimization, quality control, and performance improvement
Requirements
4-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within B2B marketplaces, wholesale, or e-commerce
Strong relationship builder with the confidence and credibility to manage senior supplier stakeholders in person
Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into clear commercial actions
Customer-centric and quality-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership for supplier outcomes
Self-starter with a growth mindset and comfort operating autonomously in a field-based role
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in B2B marketplaces, luxury goods, jewelry, or tech-enabled marketplaces
Familiarity with supply chain, wholesale, or inventory-led businesses
Proven track record of driving revenue growth through partner or supplier relationships
