About the role
- Payroll Specialist at Moneris processing bi-weekly payroll for executive, salaried and hourly employees. Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and providing expertise on payroll-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Process full cycle bi-weekly Payroll
- Support Post Payroll process including GL, finance reports, tax remittances, benefit, and pension administration
- Be a subject matter expert for the payroll, benefit, time tracking and absence modules in Workday
- Provide payroll expertise, and guidance to all stakeholders in complex and sensitive matters and policy interpretation related to payroll and benefits
- Support year-end processing and reporting for T4, T4A, W2, RL1, T2200, EHT, WorkSafe BC, CNESST reconciliation, returns and other jurisdictional forms
Requirements
- University degree in a related field
- PCP certification – Payroll Compliance Practitioner
- Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing
- ROE web, payroll compliance, year-end payroll processing (processing T4, RL1, Workers Comp, etc.)
- Some GL and finance knowledge
- Payroll & absence reporting (employees/management/finance)
- Knowledge of payroll and HRIS Workday systems
