About the role

  • Training for Operating Room Assistant (OTA) at Johanniter-Krankenhaus Stendal. Involves practical and theoretical education in surgical and anesthesia-related areas.

Responsibilities

  • The apprenticeship for Operating Room Assistant (OTA) (m/f/d) imparts professional, personal, social and methodological competencies for responsible participation in surgical and anesthesiology departments as well as in the emergency department, endoscopy and the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) of a hospital
  • Assisting with the preparation, performance and follow-up of medical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Comprehensive care of patients in these work areas
  • Performing certain tasks independently or as part of collaborative work
  • Working interdisciplinarily with other professional groups
  • Practical placements in all surgical specialties at Johanniter Hospital Stendal according to the recommendation of the German Hospital Federation (DKG)
  • Theoretical instruction takes place at the Training Center for Health Professions of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg
  • Trained practical instructors who will guide and support you
  • Contemporary teaching methods with practice-oriented training concepts

Requirements

  • A-levels (Abitur), intermediate school certificate (Realschulabschluss) or an equivalent completed school education; or a lower secondary school certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) or equivalent school leaving qualification in combination with a successfully completed vocational training program with a planned training duration of at least two years; or a lower secondary certificate combined with authorization to work as a nursing assistant (healthcare and nursing assistant) (m/f/d); or a successfully completed state-regulated training of at least one year in nursing or eldercare; or another equivalent qualification
  • Enjoy working in a team and value collegial cooperation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to new situations
  • Physically resilient and able to handle stressful situations
  • Completion of a two-week internship in a surgical/operative area
  • Minimum language proficiency of B2 (CEFR)
