About the role
- Financial Analyst supporting accounting and finance functions through data entry and analysis at Bal Seal Engineering. Maintaining financial records and preparing reports for management.
Responsibilities
- Enter financial transactions accurately into the accounting system, including journal entries and adjustments
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry and reconciliations as needed
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
- Organize, file, and maintain accounting records and documentation
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Assist with audit requests by gathering schedules and supporting documentation
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare routine financial reports for internal management
- Perform basic variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and prior periods
- Compile and analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies
- Maintain Excel-based reports, schedules, and tracking tools
- Respond to internal financial and accounting inquiries
- Assist with process improvements related to data accuracy and reporting efficiency
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Accounting and Finance teams as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to work with financial data
- Ability to manage routine tasks while meeting deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- ERP system experience preferred, specifically JDE
