About the role

  • Financial Analyst supporting accounting and finance functions through data entry and analysis at Bal Seal Engineering. Maintaining financial records and preparing reports for management.

Responsibilities

  • Enter financial transactions accurately into the accounting system, including journal entries and adjustments
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry and reconciliations as needed
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
  • Organize, file, and maintain accounting records and documentation
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Assist with audit requests by gathering schedules and supporting documentation
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare routine financial reports for internal management
  • Perform basic variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and prior periods
  • Compile and analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies
  • Maintain Excel-based reports, schedules, and tracking tools
  • Respond to internal financial and accounting inquiries
  • Assist with process improvements related to data accuracy and reporting efficiency
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Accounting and Finance teams as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to work with financial data
  • Ability to manage routine tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • ERP system experience preferred, specifically JDE
