Responsibilities
- Main point of contact for all accounting-related queries
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring and technical onboarding of new staff
- Preparation and production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (including provisions, depreciation and accruals)
- Perform account reconciliations, supplier reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations
- Processing incoming invoices, dunning and cash reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies in close coordination with our stores
- Close collaboration with Controlling on budget planning, forecasts and analyses
- Preparation of annual tax returns (corporation tax, trade tax, VAT) including complete supporting documentation and coordination with external tax advisors
- Preparation and management of all payment processes for the DACH region
- Planning and supervision of inventories and analysis of results
- Responsible for fixed asset accounting (creation, maintenance and depreciation of fixed assets)
- Participation in payroll accounting (posting payroll, reconciling payroll accounts, liaising with external payroll providers)
- Active involvement in process optimizations, digitization projects and system implementations
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration or a comparable commercial qualification (e.g., certified balance-sheet accountant/Bilanzbuchhalter)
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in a senior role
- Solid knowledge of financial statement preparation under HGB and IFRS
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP is a plus
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and experience with ERP and accounting systems
- Experience working with tax advisors and auditors
- Leadership skills and enthusiasm for developing team members
- Structured, self-reliant and solution-oriented working style
- Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of a dynamic, international environment
- Excellent German language skills; good English skills are an advantage
