About the role

  • Claims Manager overseeing a team and improving claims processes at Howden in Ireland. Responsible for team management and process enhancements in the insurance sector.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of claims executives and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Reporting line manager for the Claims team members
  • Performance management of claims team
  • Hiring and building out the team to meet business ambitions
  • Team member training / support / coaching / mentoring
  • Optimising the culture within the claims team
  • Drive process improvement
  • Build a suite of management information to support claims decision making
  • Build robust working relationships with key insurers
  • Build robust working relationships with internal trading teams
  • Use their feedback to improve claims team performance
  • Expand the remit of the claims team to support other trading teams across the Howden Ireland business
  • Support the trading team with client engagement as required
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and the quality of the claims handling processing
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders and other departments to manage claims effectively.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience within the insurance industry, working in a claims environment and ideally at a Team Lead or Manager level
  • Minimum CIP qualification in insurance
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively manage teams in a dynamic environment
  • Skilled in providing guidance and support for professional growth, fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Maintains a high level of integrity and upholds strong ethical principles in all professional interactions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining client trust and satisfaction
  • Embraces creative problem-solving, works collaboratively across functions, and consistently delivers results.
