About the role

  • Applications Development Group Manager leading engineering initiatives and mentoring teams at Citi. Responsible for architecting scalable systems and driving Generative AI adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Align engineering initiatives with SAFe Agile principles, ensuring predictable delivery and continuous improvement
  • Architect scalable, high-performing systems using cloud-native architecture and proven design patterns
  • Build foundational frameworks across middleware and UI to accelerate development and reduce maintenance overhead
  • Lead data engineering efforts, including data modeling, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), batch and streaming data processing, data governance, and quality engines
  • Drive Generative AI adoption across product lines, leveraging LLMs and AI-driven automation to accelerate SDLC and deliver business value
  • Actively contribute to product requirements analysis and solution architecture
  • Lead proof-of-concepts, design of critical components, and code reviews
  • Implement foundational components across Java, Python, and Angular for enterprise-grade applications
  • Champion AI-based code generation tools to automate repetitive engineering tasks
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and observability
  • Mentor and lead a global team of engineering leads and senior developers
  • Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and performance standards

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering, with 6+ years in hands-on leadership roles
  • Proven experience in cloud-native architecture and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong expertise in microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures
  • Hands-on coding experience with Angular, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks
  • Deep experience in data engineering, including pipelines (ETL/ELT), data storage (warehouses, lakes), batch/stream processing, data modeling, governance, and big data technologies
  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering, AI integration patterns)
  • Strong understanding of SAFe Agile framework and enterprise-scale agile delivery
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, container orchestration, and observability tools
  • Experience in large-scale financial services enterprise environments
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills
