About the role

  • Personalreferent supporting HR law and employee relations at the U.S. Air Force in an international setting. Providing legal advice and training on labor law and employee management.

Responsibilities

  • In this responsible role, you advise and support managers and employees on all questions of labor and collective bargaining law, as well as on employee relations and personnel support.
  • You make a significant contribution to ensuring fair, transparent and future-oriented HR practices in the international environment of the U.S. Air Force by advising managers and employees at all stages of employee and labor relations.
  • Interpretation and application of German labor and social law, collective bargaining agreements and relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Review and processing of personnel measures for legal and collective-bargaining compliance.
  • Preparation, support and follow-up for meetings with the works council; advising managers in this context.
  • Support and involvement in labor court proceedings (including drafting legal pleadings, case preparation and support during negotiations).
  • Advice on performance evaluations, absence management, occupational reintegration management (BEM), as well as disciplinary and separation processes.
  • Development and delivery of training for managers in people management and labor law.

Requirements

  • Degree from a University of Applied Sciences (FH) or university (Bachelor) in HR, law with a focus on HR and/or labor law, or another relevant field.
  • Sound knowledge of German labor law, collective bargaining law (CTA II), personnel representation law and social law.
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and confidently apply the results in practice.
  • Strong advisory skills, diplomatic tact and the ability to act convincingly and solution-oriented even in contentious situations.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
  • Proficient user of MS Office.
  • Initiative, team spirit, resilience, reliability and an independent, well-structured way of working.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to mediate between differing interests as an advisor.
  • Class B driving licence.
