About the role

  • HR Compliance Specialist ensuring compliance with employment laws and HR best practices at MERS Goodwill. Supporting investigations and leave management in a diverse workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal investigations regarding potential policy concerns and prepare clear, thorough summaries of findings.
  • Oversee state, federal, and agency leave requests, including FMLA, PWFA, and related compliance requirements.
  • Manage employee accommodation requests in accordance with ADA guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to Unemployment Insurance (UI) inquiries and maintain accurate records of hearings and outcomes.
  • Review HR documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to agencies.
  • Support quarterly Department of Labor (DOL) and annual EEOC reporting.
  • Provide additional support and take on special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and build positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred.
