About the role

  • Senior Human Resources Coordinator leading HR operations at UT Austin. Managing HR customer service and enhancing employee experience with compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the HR customer service desk, ensuring prompt, professional, and solution-oriented support for managers, staff, and applicants.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
  • Supervise full-time staff and student employees, assigning tasks, providing coaching and mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting professional development to ensure high-quality HR service delivery.
  • Apply systems thinking to analyze employee data and generate actionable reports.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance onboarding and customer service experiences.
  • Oversee onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with institutional best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with campus partners to coordinate background checks, I-9 verification, compliance training, and employee records management.
  • Oversee and triage incoming HR service requests received through the ticketing system, office walk-ins, and email.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of HR transactions in Workday.
  • Monitor and manage HR workflows, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
  • Ensure adherence to UT policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and maintain HR filing systems and records.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and timely processing of recurring employment documentation.
  • Identify and escalate complex or sensitive HR issues to the HR leadership team.
  • Lead and contribute to strategic HR initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in human resources administration or related field.
  • Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment.
  • More than five years of experience in human resources administration (Preferred).
  • At least two years of supervisory experience (Preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred).
  • HR Certification (Preferred).
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information in an office setting (Preferred).
  • Experience working in a customer service environment (Preferred).
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills (Preferred).
