HR Generalist responsible for staffing and employee relations at CMC Steel. Ensuring compliance with HR policies and providing support in employee development and benefits education.
About the role
- Greet visitors, answer plant phone line, and represent the first impression of CMC
- Responsible for day-to-day transactions such as processing employee data changes
- Process weekly payroll and serve as main point of contact for Kronos issues or concerns
- Assist HR Manager in facilitating a seamless new hire onboarding experience including pre-employment and orientation activities
- Assist with scheduling full-time interviews and sourcing candidates for hard to fill positions
- Understand and educate employees on CMC benefits, including support of the new hire and annual enrollment process
- Assist with plant wide communication through Microsoft Outlook and formatting Power Point slides
- Manage uniform orders, halts, and invoicing
- Maintain mail station, break area and conference rooms to include housekeeping and ordering supplies
- Assist in planning company events and community involvement opportunities
- Identify and communicate general issues and concerns to the HR Manager and participate in development of the proper response to such issues
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements

- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Responsive nature with strong sense of urgency to handle matters quickly
