About the role
- Teamlead managing a strategic purchasing team in machinery construction, implementing sourcing strategies and supplier management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a five-member team of Commodity Managers, with both disciplinary (line) and technical responsibilities.
- Develop and implement the procurement strategy in alignment with directives from procurement management.
- Develop structured contract documentation for strategic guidelines.
- Intervene and make strategic decisions in critical price negotiations and in the event of supply shortages within the operational procurement process.
- Ensure achievement of cost-reduction targets.
- Further develop and optimize a forecasting tool for demand analysis.
- Research and assess procurement markets and raw material prices, particularly in the structural steel sector.
- Evaluate and select suitable suppliers in the structural steel sector.
- Identify cost-saving potential and implement measures to increase efficiency.
- Lead negotiations on prices, delivery times, production capacities, delivery terms, and payment conditions, including final supplier selection.
- Proactive supplier management based on performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.
- Extensive leadership experience in strategic purchasing, particularly in structural steel for mechanical engineering.
- Advanced SAP skills required; experience as a key user (superuser) is an advantage.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel for business.
- Strong presence and assertiveness, an independent and well-structured working style, and team spirit.
- Proven ability to quickly get up to speed on new and complex topics.
- Good technical understanding.
