About the role

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of Benefits accounts and serve as primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients
  • Develop solid partnerships with clients’ HR managers and other support staff; manage service issues and present timely solutions
  • Assist in preparing RFP bid specifications and analyze carrier quotes; negotiate with insurance carrier representatives and underwriters
  • Manage implementation of new lines of coverage and carrier changes; complete new/renewal business paperwork and internal documentation
  • Prepare employee communications materials and conduct group education and enrollment meetings onsite or via webinar
  • Proof booklets and contracts for accuracy; facilitate Schedule As and Form 5500 filings and notify clients of legislative/regulatory changes
  • Responsible for electronic file set-up and maintenance and documentation of client meetings/issues/decisions
  • Plan, prioritize and complete day-to-day workload to meet internal/external deadlines; attend onsite and offsite client meetings as necessary

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years in group benefits with at least 1+ years in a Client Manager or similar level role
  • Licensed in Arizona Health, Life and Disability (or ability to be licensed within 60 days of employment)
  • Ability to develop and work with mathematical formulas
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external parties
  • Ability to conduct education and enrollment meetings (comfortable with public speaking)
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers and peers
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Preferred: Some college or technical training in related discipline
  • Preferred: Continuing education such as RHU, REBC, CEBS, or CBP
  • Preferred: Experience using BenefitPoint
