About the role

  • Provide leadership to implement approved strategic and operational plans and activities for the area.
  • Accountable for achieving annual area goals and objectives by developing leaders, implementing systems, and ensuring financial and ministry targets are met.
  • Recruit, equip, and develop key volunteer facilitators/leaders and oversee leadership development within volunteer networks.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings with volunteer leaders and provide evangelism training to churches, members and chapters.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for fundraising and revenue growth through chapters, members, volunteers and churches.
  • Represent SWG in your area and at Chapter events as required; leverage relationships to enhance GCP, GRID Events, and GO Trip participation.
  • Develop and execute a plan for church outreach and grow volunteers, SWG Partners, and church partnerships year over year.
  • Assist in planning and execution of regional and national ministry events; participate in special projects and contribute to Spark/Ignite modules.
  • Attend GCP and volunteer-led events, support local ministry activities, assist in fundraising initiatives and engage in GO Events and GO Trips as required.
  • Use approved digital tools and provide stories, videos and photos to Marketing & Communications to raise awareness.
  • Utilize approved technology to streamline administrative tasks; approve special Scripture orders and manage inquiries from members, volunteers, GCPs and partners.
  • Attend staff devotions, team meetings, and stay up to date with Human Resource training and documentation.
  • Reports to: Director of Ministry.

  • Experience in volunteer management, church engagement, and evangelism training.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to implement ministry growth initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Administrative and financial oversight capabilities.
  • Adaptability to new technologies for ministry expansion.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly under sometimes tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter and able to achieve goals with minimal oversight.
  • Entrepreneurial.
  • Excellent public speaker and engaging storyteller.
  • Results-driven.
  • Diplomatic, sensitive and engaging.
  • Assets: Experience working in a not-for profit, charitable organization or church; Experience in fundraising; Experience in membership recruitment; Experience in public speaking; Experience with Blackbaud and Raisers Edge products.
