About the role

  • People Advisor providing HR support and solutions at Banham, a family-owned security solutions provider since 1926. Balancing operational delivery with focus on employee experience in a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with managers and team leads, understanding their operational needs and offering pragmatic people solutions that align with business goals.
  • Advise on policies, procedures, and people processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Own and manage a range of ER cases (sickness absence, performance, probation, disciplinary, grievance, etc.), ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • Draft correspondence and meeting notes, ensuring compliance with internal policy and UK employment law.
  • Partner with the People Partner on complex or high-risk cases when needed.
  • Manage core HR processes (excluding onboarding/vetting).
  • Maintain accurate records within the HRIS.
  • Work closely with the People Coordinator to ensure contracts and HR letters are issued accurately and on time.
  • Partner with the Onboarding Team to ensure smooth handovers at offer stage and beyond.
  • Support wider people projects such as process improvements, policy updates, and manager training.
  • Identify trends or process bottlenecks within your business unit and propose practical improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR / People Operations role, ideally within a fast-paced or matrixed organisation.
  • Confident managing HR casework independently, with solid knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Discretion, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Experience using HRIS systems (Cascade preferred).
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
