HR Operations Manager focusing on Payroll in a flexible hybrid work environment at ZEIT Verlagsgruppe. Collaborate closely with BPO partners to ensure payroll processes are efficient and compliant.
Responsibilities
Close collaboration with our external BPO partner: You will be the central liaison between us and our external BPO partner. You will clarify queries, coordinate corrections and support monthly account reconciliations as well as audits.
Preparatory payroll processing: You ensure that all payroll-relevant information is complete, accurate and submitted to our external BPO partner on time.
First point of contact for payroll-related questions: Internally you are the contact person for payroll-related matters and handle wage tax and social security issues. You ensure that new legal requirements or company policies are implemented promptly.
Development of internal (process) standards: You define and optimize internal process standards for payroll-related procedures. Together with external partners and internal stakeholders you develop standards and establish appropriate quality measures to ensure sustained process quality.
Participation in our digitization initiative: As one of the key users for our HRIS you actively contribute to our digital transformation. You accompany the implementation of new processes and evaluate where process automation can meaningfully improve and future-proof our payroll processes.
Support in day-to-day operations: When needed, you step in and support your colleagues with operational tasks in personnel administration.
Requirements
You have completed a commercial apprenticeship with a relevant further qualification in the HR field.
Alternatively, you have completed training as a tax clerk (Steuerfachangestellte/r) or hold a degree in economics with a relevant focus.
You have several years of professional experience in an HR department, with a tax advisor or at a payroll service provider.
You possess solid knowledge of tax and social security law and are familiar with collective bargaining agreements as well as other rules and regulations applicable in HR.
You bring experience in preparatory payroll processing as well as HR administration, particularly in maintaining an HRIS and/or a payroll system.
You enjoy developing standards and sharing this knowledge across the HR team and beyond. You keep your knowledge up to date and proactively follow relevant developments.
A confident command of MS Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint is a matter of course for you.
You are characterized by a careful and structured working style. Even under payroll deadlines and when unexpected issues arise you keep an overview, maintain confidentiality and keep data protection in mind.
