About the role

  • Design and deliver structured initial and ongoing training programs for the claims team
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring tools, resources, and training to succeed
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in claims adjudication processes, system usage (Javelina), and benefit plan interpretation
  • Facilitate training sessions in-person and virtually, using a variety of instructional methods
  • Create and update training materials, including manuals, job aids, and process documentation, including release impacts to claims adjudication
  • Monitor trainee progress through testing, audits, and one-on-one coaching
  • Collaborate with leadership and Quality Assurance to address performance gaps with targeted retraining
  • Support implementation of client-specific plan changes, system upgrades, and regulatory updates
  • Maintain accurate records of training completion and employee development
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practice, and technological advancements to enhance training techniques
  • Help build learning modules in LMS regarding Claims
  • Aid in special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Education, Training or a related field; or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) or Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
  • 2-3+ years of proven corporate training experience, preferably in the health care industry
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding solutions to training challenges and helping team members improve
  • Health care claims and billing experience is a plus
  • Hands-on experience using the Javelina claims platform is a plus
  • Familiarity with the concepts in healthcare administration, such as TPA’s, Self-Funding, Stop Loss, healthcare claim cycling and coding
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant training software or platforms
  • Comfortable presenting in front of both small and large groups
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a digestible and engaging way
  • Ability to manage multiple training projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
