The FinOps Specialist will play a critical role in optimizing and governing cloud and SaaS spending across the organization.
This role requires a professional who understands financial accountability and cost optimization and also possesses technical confidence to monitor SaaS management tool (e.g., Torii, CloudHealth, Apptio).
The FinOps Specialist will collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, IT, and Engineering teams to ensure cloud and SaaS costs are transparent, predictable, and aligned with business value. The role involves license managing, ensuring proper license utilisation, forecasting spend, and driving cost efficiency while maintaining strong business partnerships.
Requirements
Proven experience in FinOps, SaaS management, or Cloud Cost Optimization.
Hands-on expertise with SaaS management platforms (e.g., Torii, BetterCloud, Vendr, or similar).
Analytical and financial skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and provide actionable insights.
Ability to design and integrate tools for SaaS monitoring, cost allocation, and reporting.
Excellent soft skills: communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams.
Knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) cost models and billing practices.
**Good to have:
Experience with automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, etc.) to integrate SaaS and cloud tools.
Familiarity with APIs and integrations for SaaS monitoring and cost reporting.
Exposure to IT asset management (ITAM) or procurement workflows.
FinOps certification or participation in the FinOps Foundation community.
Understanding of enterprise identity and access management (e.g., Okta, Azure AD) to support license governance.
Experience in financial planning, vendor negotiation, or contract management.
