About the role

  • Deliver expert-level product and service training to professional painting contractors focused on product performance and application techniques
  • Collaborate with the sales team and Training Implementation Specialist (TIS) to determine market needs and tailor training programs
  • Work with local field sales representatives and sales management to develop product application training plans for new accounts and key accounts
  • Conduct needs assessments with contractors to understand business drivers and shape contractor training strategy
  • Partner with market leaders to conduct annual assessments and quarterly reviews to build and measure contractor training plans and monitor outcomes
  • Ensure alignment with marketing and research & development to leverage content and reinforce initiatives
  • Keep pulse on industry information and competitive practices to inform training programs
  • Utilize systems and technology to report metrics and communicate with internal customers
  • Secure product application space and follow procedures to set-up and take down materials for training
  • Understand and enforce safety requirements for participants and facilities
  • Regularly collaborate with sales leadership and field sales training teams to align goals, timelines, and execution
  • Amend existing product training programs working with market TIS and headquarters content development team
  • Perform physical setup and execution of paint demonstrations, including lifting materials and equipment
  • Travel approximately 70% of the time and work evenings/weekends when necessary

Requirements

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • BA/BS college degree preferred, or equivalent industry business experience
  • Experience with facilitation and delivering training
  • NACE, MPI certifications preferred
  • Has in depth knowledge of the paint industry
  • Industry affiliations or participation with such as MPI, PCA, or others
  • Demonstrated ability for continuous learning of technical paint product information
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities while demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Company car provided – 70% travel required
  • High tolerance for changing priorities and a genuine sense of urgency
  • Leverages a strong understanding of contractor business models and pain points
  • Understanding of contractor business needs and job processes
  • Excellent PC (MSOffice, PowerPoint, etc.) and presentation skills
  • Ability, Willing to travel three to four days a week
  • Must be willing to work evenings & weekends when necessary
  • Conducting the physical set up and execution of paint demonstrations
  • Must be able to lift more than 10-50lbs
  • Needs to reside within the area of a Benjamin Moore facility, ideally one with application space—or in a major metropolitan area close to a company office equipped to support training activities
