About the role

  • Support a DoD program developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in AWS GovCloud and advise on cloud migration best practices
  • Team with the Customer to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and configuring AWS Services in non-production environments
  • Provide general review of conceptual architectural models on AWS Services and suggest alternatives and evaluation criteria
  • Deliver general best practices for architecting on AWS Services applicable to Customers' use cases
  • Review Customer's current architecture, dependencies and operational requirements
  • Advise on AWS Services automation (building Amazon Machine Images, system deployment, and bootstrapping)
  • Recommend configuration options for distributed high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures
  • Provide migration of applications to AWS Services and automation of migration and post-migration operational activities in Customer non-production environment
  • Deliver AWS best practices for cost and performance optimization on the AWS platform
  • Team with the Customer in onboarding a Partner for daily Operations and Maintenance of the GovCloud environment
  • Assess current enterprise cloud environments and identify capabilities needed for future applications
  • Assess current common services and enterprise integration services and identify future enhancements to those services

Requirements

  • 7 - 9 years of professional experience with AWS
  • Must hold an active AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification
  • Must hold an active CompTIA Security+ or demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Experience developing AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation of deployment of applications into AWS GovCloud
  • Experience advising Customers with AWS migration best practices, specifically related to AWS GovCloud
  • Experience architecting applications IAW AWS best practices in AWS GovCloud
  • Experience working in DoD environments
  • Familiarity with DoD RMF/ATO requirements
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required
  • Must be able to work approximately 50% of the time on-site in Fort Meade, MD
  • Excellent communicator in writing and speaking
  • Ability to work independently but also value teamwork
  • Strong problem-solving skills
