About the role

  • Maximize revenue, profit, and market share associated with rooms and function space for each property
  • Manage processes associated with demand, revenue, forecasting, opportunity analysis, and inventory management
  • Determine and manage hotels sales strategy and pricing for transient, group, and catering
  • Monitor and analyze demand patterns to implement strategic daily selling strategies to drive REVPAR
  • Constant monitoring of competition and recommend system settings and rate placement for each hotel
  • Travel to Sage properties to evaluate the front office operation and staff
  • Develop and provide training for reservations, guest service agents, and front office staff on upselling and negotiation
  • Ensure appropriate reservation sales training is being conducted with property Front Office and Reservation Sales staffs
  • Evaluate rate management capabilities and develop GM learning plans for market knowledge and rate setting
  • Monitor daily flash reports and provide recommendations and support to staff as necessary
  • Create and analyze competitive hotel information to assist decision making
  • Develop selling strategies including rate, arrival patterns, length of stay, and discount rate availability
  • Ensure updated information exists in all channels (Reservation systems, internet, GDS, etc.)
  • Identify revenue problems and opportunities with sufficient lead time to impact revenues
  • Continuously seek improvements in revenue management practices and use all yield management tools
  • Manage property participation and production through internet sites and distribution channels (CRO, GDS, ADS, Travel Agency Consortiums)
  • Develop Business and Marketing Plans and provide Displacement Analysis solutions
  • Teach and coach company managers to strive for revenue forecasts accurate within 5%
  • Lead the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process

Requirements

  • Four year degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years’ experience and proven revenue management or reservations experience
  • Multi-property experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of transient, group, and catering customer segments
  • Excellent personal management skills; time management, meeting deadlines, effective communication and presentations skills
  • Excellent understanding of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes, and systems
  • Understands both Brand strategies and cultures and Independent Hotel positioning
  • Knowledge of advanced revenue management techniques
