About the role

  • Client Acquisition and Sales : Identifying potential clients in the software industry and reaching out to them. This involves understanding client needs and presenting suitable software solutions, demonstrating how these can solve their problems or enhance their operations.
  • Relationship Management : Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships. This includes regular check-ins with existing clients to ensure they are satisfied with the services and products, and to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Product Knowledge : Gaining in-depth knowledge of the company's software products and platforms. This includes understanding technical aspects well enough to explain them in simple terms to non-technical clients.
  • Strategy and Planning : Developing sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets. This involves working closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to create cohesive strategies that enhance sales and product development.
  • Feedback Loop : Acting as a bridge between clients and the development team. This includes gathering feedback on product usage, features requests, or issues and communicating this feedback to the development team to inform product improvements or new product development.
  • Proposal and Contract Development : Preparing and delivering sales proposals and contracts to potential clients. This task requires understanding the legal and financial aspects of sales agreements.
  • Market Analysis : Conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the software industry. This helps in adjusting sales strategies and developing new products that meet market demands.
  • Training and Support : Providing initial training and ongoing support to clients for complex software products. This may involve coordinating with the technical support team to resolve client issues.
  • Negotiation : Negotiating contract terms with clients and stakeholders. This requires excellent communication and negotiation skills to arrive at mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Reporting : Regularly reporting to senior management on sales targets, achieved sales, pipeline development, and client feedback to inform business strategies.

Requirements

  • You have a strong network
  • Multiple years of experience in sales and account management within the software industry
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong understanding of software platforms and engineering
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in German is a must, additional languages are a plus
