About the role

  • Payroll Specialist responsible for payroll processing and compliance at Worldwide Flight Services. Supporting inquiries, audits, and special payroll projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support core payroll processing team with payroll duties such as ensuring accuracy, making necessary corrections, and validating payroll prior to final approval and payment.
  • Review and resolve employee pay discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and provide clear explanations and resolutions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay rate changes.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required payroll records and documentation.
  • Administer wage garnishments and ensure timely and accurate processing in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Perform payroll‑related administrative duties, including reporting, filing, and record retention.
  • Participate in special payroll and HR‑related projects as assigned.
  • Provide general office administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of payroll experience or equivalent related experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of payroll processes, including payroll preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll tax requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or related software.
  • Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems preferred, including ADP, SAP, and UKG.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) strongly preferred.
