About the role

  • Payroll Specialist at Bureau Veritas responsible for U.S. and Canadian payroll processing and compliance. Ensures accuracy and legal adherence for multi-jurisdictional workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process multi-state U.S. and multi-province Canadian payrolls (salaried and hourly) on a bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws regarding wages, deductions, taxes, and reporting requirements.
  • Calculate, review, and validate retroactive payments, bonuses, garnishments, commissions, and other special pay types.
  • Coordinate, review, and validate payroll inputs from HR, Time & Attendance systems.
  • Investigate, validate, and resolve errors in payroll and accounting systems.
  • Ensure overall accuracy and timeliness of payroll through thorough review and validation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience in both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Post Secondary Education in Business or related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal and state labor/payroll laws (FLSA, IRS regulations, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation (Employment Standards, CRA, Service Canada, provincial regulations).
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now – Cross Border, ADP eTime, ADP Workforce Manager, Success Factors).
