Responsibilities
As Head of Controlling (m/f/d), you report directly to the department management and act as a controlling partner through regular exchange formats with the clinics, clear KPIs, comprehensible analyses and practice-oriented recommendations — on equal footing with medical, nursing and administrative decision-makers.
In this role you are responsible for personnel management of an 8-member controlling team, including personnel development.
You are responsible for strategic and operational financial and investment controlling in coordination with the department management and other departments, internal reporting with planned vs. actual comparisons, variance analyses and ad-hoc evaluations, as well as the optimization of controlling processes.
You optimize organizational structure and workflows, design interfaces and work closely with other executives on strategic corporate management.
You implement the tasks arising from the hospital budget in all aspects of somatic and psychiatric care within the Controlling department.
Your responsibilities include: cost, performance and revenue controlling; steering and active further development of controlling processes and economically relevant workflows; planning/forecasting, data quality, reporting and management presentations; and fundamental casework in the Controlling area. You will conduct regular planning and budget meetings with clinic and institute managers and support the economic planning. You will steer the economic development of all clinical areas. Further development and implementation of controlling systems (CO, BW, S/4HANA). Further development of reporting, dashboards and KPI systems and the preparation of tailored reports for the Executive Board, medical and nursing leadership. Co-responsibility for implementing cost-unit accounting according to InEK principles. Participation in cross-department projects for structural and process optimization, quality development, cost containment, revenue maximization, service development and market positioning of clinics.
Requirements
Completed university degree in medical/nursing sciences and/or business administration, or several years of professional experience in healthcare controlling
Solid knowledge in the described fields of responsibility
Several years of professional experience with personnel management in the hospital sector
Proficient use of SAP (modules FI, CO, BW), KHBV, KIS, InEK cost matrix
Confident user of MS Office products and QlikView
Strong knowledge of hospital financing, controlling systems and cost accounting in hospitals; experience with hospital cost-unit accounting
Very high analytical and conceptual skills as well as pronounced numerical understanding
Experience in implementing new systems and in process and organizational change
Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities and a confident presence at all levels; analytical, structured and solution-oriented
