About the role
- Engineer specializing in tunneling projects for the City of Toronto's Engineering Services. Working on project management and engineering design for major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team with a Senior Engineer to deliver major tunneling projects.
- Provide project management and engineering expertise for studies and during preliminary design, detailed design, construction and post construction phases.
- Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals for compliance with the City's purchasing processes and manage them.
- Ensure coordination and consultation with various City departments, approval and permitting agencies; identify property needs and acquire easements.
- Provide engineering advice, Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Construction Tender packages and oversee construction.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
- A Professional Engineering license and membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario
- Extensive Engineering, Project management or Coordination experience in managing major consulting and construction assignments in any of the following areas: tunneling, micro-tunneling, complex linear underground or large-scale transit projects
- A valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License.
- Knowledge of legislation related to the Construction Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Environmental Protection Act, Federal Fisheries Act, Excess Soil Regulation and Conservation Act.
