Engineer specializing in tunneling projects for the City of Toronto's Engineering Services. Working on project management and engineering design for major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Work in a team with a Senior Engineer to deliver major tunneling projects.
Provide project management and engineering expertise for studies and during preliminary design, detailed design, construction and post construction phases.
Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals for compliance with the City's purchasing processes and manage them.
Ensure coordination and consultation with various City departments, approval and permitting agencies; identify property needs and acquire easements.
Provide engineering advice, Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Construction Tender packages and oversee construction.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
A Professional Engineering license and membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario
Extensive Engineering, Project management or Coordination experience in managing major consulting and construction assignments in any of the following areas: tunneling, micro-tunneling, complex linear underground or large-scale transit projects
A valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License.
Knowledge of legislation related to the Construction Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Environmental Protection Act, Federal Fisheries Act, Excess Soil Regulation and Conservation Act.
