About the role
- Maintenance Support Technician ensuring efficient operation of all mechanical equipment at the J.R. Simplot Company facility in Ontario, OR, performing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient operation of all industrial mechanical equipment for the facility
- Mechanical maintenance, lubrication, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment
- Troubleshoot and make minor and major repairs of equipment at the Water Recovery Plant
- Wire feed and stick welding on stainless steel, black iron, aluminum and other types of metals
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment throughout the Water Recovery Plant
- Perform a variety of skilled duties such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, etc.
- Assist in setting up mechanical and hydro cutting systems for production runs
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Maintain all shop inventories, tools and equipment
- Document, monitor, and assist with reporting of shift events
- Maintain Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs
- Assist in training other plant personnel
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of industrial or food processing mechanical experience
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred
- Must demonstrate qualification through a hands-on job skill evaluation
- Valid equipment operator’s license with a Lift Truck and platform within 30 days of starting the bid
- Able to perform sound welds in accordance with the qualifications required by applicable welding code
