About the role

  • Plan and deliver medical content strategy across Pfizer medicines and therapeutic areas. Lead teams in medical communications to improve scientific information engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver an end-to-end medical channel content strategy across Pfizer medicines and therapeutic areas to optimize the engagement and reach of emerging scientific information.
  • Lead the planning, conceptualization, production, and dissemination of Global & US medical content across internally and externally facing medical channels, including scientific communication platforms (SCPs), publications, congress content, Medical-to-medical content, and content for newly prioritized digital medical channels.
  • Lead Scientific Publication Committee(s) and Medical Content Dissemination Sub-team(s) for assigned compound(s) to develop global publication and medical content dissemination plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external authors through engagement with ongoing publication activities, including congress presentation slide reviews, external publication steering committee meetings, and enhanced publication content development.
  • Develop and implement an omnichannel medical content strategy for assigned therapeutic area(s) /medicine(s) that broadens the reach and impact of scientific publications.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for global medical congresses with cross-functional teams in support of Pfizer’s key data and scientific presence.
  • Lead and contribute to internal communications regarding pre- and post-congress coverage reporting.
  • Manage agencies and offshore teams to ensure medical content development aligned with global medical strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional Medical Teams, Channel Excellence, Data Analytics, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of data dissemination plans with medical priorities.
  • Ensure dissemination and adaptation of content either directly or via distribution to Local Channel Content, Channel Excellence, and Field Medical Excellence teams.
  • Lead and navigate Review Committee submissions with associated requirements to ensure timely review, approval and posting of content on the appropriate channel.

Requirements

  • PhD/JD and a minimum of 5 years of medical communications experience—publications and/or medical content development OR MS/MBA and a minimum of 7 years of medical communications experience—publications and/or medical content development OR BA/BS and a minimum of 9 years of medical communications experience—publications and/or medical content development
  • Experience in clinical research and clinical development
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Matrix leadership experience including managing and achieving results through influence without direct authority
  • Expertise in industry standards, customer requirements, and the general business environment
  • Experience succinctly conveying detailed technical information to different audiences and cultures
