Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a diverse team of in-country payroll professionals
- Oversee efficient, compliant payroll operations while maintaining comprehensive process documentation
- Approve payroll processing, resolving issues for on-time delivery
- Align payroll operations with business strategy
- Ensure adherence to U.S. and Canadian payroll, tax, and employment regulations
- Oversee general ledger reconciliations and payroll internal and external audits
- Lead year-end payroll activities, including statutory filings
- Deliver high-quality service to employees and stakeholders
- Build strong partnerships with U.S. and Canadian HR and business leaders
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of payroll experience with a current payroll certification
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax and wage and hour regulations; Canadian experience is an asset
- Strong experience with large ERP payroll systems and reporting platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching, developing, and retaining high-performing payroll teams
- Proven ability to design, standardize, and optimize processes in complex, fast-paced, shared-services or global environments
- Strong project, time, and stakeholder management capabilities
- High level of professional integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Self-directed leader with the ability to work independently while driving alignment across functions.
