This position entails advanced secretarial responsibilities that include duties of an administrative nature which involve the employee in facilitating the operation of the BERDR Retention Unit.
The responsibilities include: production of documents, correspondence, procedures, and services; assisting in planning, coordinating, and implementing professional learning support services; maintaining spreadsheets and databases; making documents accessible and 508 compliant; and assisting in monitoring accuracy of assigned content on unit supported websites.
Performs Maintains records and track progress regarding travel authorizations, website updates and documents routing for leadership approval.
Updates databases and spreadsheets related to unit work and assist in monitoring accuracy of assigned content on unit supported websites, assisting in providing content updates and edits to website support staff as assigned.
Prioritizes, types, proofs, and reviews finished products for grammatical and typewritten errors and/or pre-established formats and department correspondence procedures.
Makes bureau documents for posting on assigned websites accessible and 508 compliant.
Assists in the development of general correspondence, input forms and reports; letters for the Commissioner’s, Chancellor’s, Deputy Chancellor’s or Bureau Chief’s signature, agendas and related conference materials; types of final copy using word processing programs.
Prepares memos and paperless communication documents as assigned.
Assists other unit personnel as assigned and assist in monitoring bureau phone services.
Assists in preparation and processing of travel documents for non-DOE and DOE travelers as assigned according to Bureau and Department regulations.
Assists with maintaining multiple bureau email boxes for prompt responses and continual communication with stakeholders.
Monitors and maintain essential office equipment to ensure effective operational practices.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Retention Unit Program Director and/or Bureau Chief
Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
Ability to provide work samples of writing skills for grammar, editing and communication review upon request.
